Life is a journey!
It’s just gone past 4am……! Why am I awake this early? I wish I knew. Tried to go back to sleep, but none of my tested methods seems to be working. Rolling and turning …………. my mind begins to wonder, taking a delve into another journey (as is ‘his’ habit), and pondering about life …….
Wow, this is December! The year has nearly ended, It’s time to take stock.
Where am I? How did I get here? Where am I heading? I wish I could confidently and comfortably answer all these questions constantly raging my mind. However, one thing is certain ………. I am not where I was 4 years ago or 12 months ago! I have been on a journey. A journey I never knew I would embark on at this early stage of my life. It’s been more difficult and more lingering than I have anticipated, read about, or seen other people on a similar path, but I guess everybody is unique, with his own unique journey. However, it’s been very different! A mixture of tears and laughter, good memories and some very painful ones. Some lonely nights, and some days you have to escape from friends and loved ones to enjoy some peace and quietness. From the excitement of the freedom to travel around the world, to the sadness of the restraints of not been able to share the experience with ‘The one’.
Would I have it differently? Je ne sais pas …………….! If I have the power to change the past, would I? The truth is, I don’t! I have learnt to ‘forget those things that are behind, and press on forward……..’
I have also learnt that people come into our lives, some for a season, some for a reason and some for a lifetime. Whatever the reason or duration that you have the people in your lives for; look after them, cherish them, love them and let them know you do! Because life is a journey!
I can’t change the past. I am very grateful for the present. And I am sooooooo excited about the future! Life is what we make of it; “To learn from the past but not to hide from it, To face the future and not be afraid or intimidated by it, To embrace the present and not be limited by the perception of current possibilities”
As I continue on my journey, I pray for divine guidance in the choices that I make.”You are the choices you make”.
Life is a journey. A journey we don’t know how long it would take, where it would lead, how it would roll out, who or what to take with us, or when it would end. However, despite the uncertainties that plague this journey, one thing is certain – we are all on a journey.
So, I have learnt to make the most of it, be the best I can be, and be a blessing to the person next to me. And most importantly, choose to enjoy it!
